Jadie Wesley 'Jay' Holsomback, 69, of Idaho Falls, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at his home from cancer. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.

Jadie was born on May 9, 1948, to Dorthy Hyde Holsomback and Jadie Wesley Holsomback in Acton, Alabama. He grew up in the Shelby County area of Alabama. He graduated from Thompson High School in 1968. He went on to study Nuclear Engineering.

In 1969 he joined the United States Navy where he served for 20 years.

On January 26, 1973, he married Patty Hensley in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They were blessed with two daughters, and Jay had a son and a daughter from a previous marriage.  During Jay's time in the military they traveled all over.

Jay was a member of the Southern Baptist church.

He enjoyed wood working, model trains, raising chickens, fishing and camping with his family. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren. Jay was a very loving, caring man who put his family first and would do anything he could to help anyone in need.

He is survived by his wife, Patty Holsomback of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his son, Jadie Michael Holsomback of Jemison, Alabama; his daughters: Lori Ann (Stephen) Webster of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Cathy Jean Holsomback of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Nanette ShaRee (Christopher) Sarcinella of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Dorthy Jean and Jadie Wesley Holsomback; and his brother, Willie Ray Holsomback.
