James Stanley Bishop was born on June 15, 1957, to Stanley Smith Bishop and Ramona Lou Cuthbert Bishop.  He was the second oldest with one older brother, Jon David (Kathline Hill), and two younger sisters, Janet Louise (Calvin Castro), and Rebecca Marie (Wendell Hutchings).  James passed on April 5, 2021, after a lengthy battle with COVID.

In his younger years, he played football at Bonneville High School.  After high school, he attended ISU in Pocatello.  In the early 1980's he worked in the oil fields in Colorado, Wyoming, and South Dakota.  He then began working on Diesel trucks doing alignments at Sunkiss in Lincoln.  He took pride in his work and customers would ask for him specifically because they knew it would be done correctly.  He later began working at Schow's; but as time went on and his health began to decline, he became the parts driver for Schow's.

James enjoyed being outside, whether this was camping, fly fishing, or playing softball it didn't really matter as long as it was nice weather.  James was an avid Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies fan.  James also played darts on Monday evenings with friends.  He loved animals, collected and read murder/mystery books, collected coins and stamps.  James also had a temper, but he also had a soft and caring heart.  He was extremely protective of his family.  He would spend hours making sure mom and dad were taken care of, fixing their trailer, helping fix their car, and making sure they had what they needed.  With his wry sense of humor, he loved to tease his niece, Malia, in believing his long tales.

He was preceded in death by his older brother, Jon David (David), his father, and his mom.

Private graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Lincoln Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
