James L. James, 62, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, February 10, 2020, at his home.  He was under the care of One Source Hospice.

James was born on October 12, 1957, in Ogden, Utah, to Alvah Louis and Sherroll Wright James. He grew up in Layton, Utah. He graduated from Layton High School in 1976.

On July 4, 1999, he married Jodi Ann Barnes in Salmon, Idaho. They lived in Clearfield, Utah and Idaho Falls, Idaho. James worked for Lowes for 20 years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was sealed to his wife and daughter, Kassidi, on Jun 4, 2011.

James loved to go camping and building fires. He loved having family time and being with his dog, Kita. James was a gentle giant who never spoke a bad word. He was kind and determined.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jodi James of Idaho Falls, ID; his daughter, Kassidi James of Idaho Falls, ID; his son, James L James Jr. of Roy, Utah; his stepdaughter, Kristy (Kyle) Orr of Buhl, ID; his stepson, D.J. (Stephanie) Moss of Ramona, CA; his mother, Sherroll James of West Point, UT; his brothers: Russell James of West Haven, UT, Paul James of Ogden, UT, and Dean James of West Point, UT; and 9 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvah James; and his sister-in-law, Jamie Barnes.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Coltman Ward Chapel, 12448 North 5 ^th East. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street.
