James Calderon-Mercado, 17, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died July 12, 2007, from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born in Harbor, California on January 25, 1988, to Jaime and Esperanza Calderon-Mercado. He was raised in the Los Angeles, California, area and moved to Idaho Falls four years ago. He attended Hillcrest High School and would have graduated with the class of 2008.

He was a member of the Catholic Church.

He enjoyed working on his car and listening to his music.

He loved to be with his family and he was a kid who was full of joy and love for everybody.

Survivors his father, Jamie Calderon, of Idaho Falls; his mother, Esperanza Mercado, of Idaho Falls; 2 brothers, Chris Calderon-Mercado, of Idaho Falls, and Antony Calderon-Mercado, of Idaho Falls; 2 sisters, Jennifer Calderon-Mercado, of Idaho Falls; his cousin, Luis Castilla-Mercado, of Idaho Falls, and his uncle, Guillermo Calderon, of California.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Christ the King Catholic Church, corner of 17th and Woodruff. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Monday, July 16, 2007, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.
