James Peter Staggie, 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 26, 2012, at his home of heart failure. He was born July 15, 1934, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to William Leroy Staggie and Jane Ann Henrie Staggie. He grew up in Idaho Falls and attended Hawthorne and Eagle Rock Elementary schools and O.E. Bell Jr. High School. On December 31, 1953, he married Lillian Rose Fay Rigoulot in Idaho Falls. Jim worked for the City of Idaho Falls from the age of 15 until his retirement some 45 years later. Jim worked as the City of Idaho Falls Cemetery Superintendent as well as setting headstones for Idaho Monument Company. He was a member of the Eagles Club. Jim was a great gardener and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, hiding the Golden Egg at the family Easter egg hunt for the kids and grandkids and family barbecues. Jim was a great husband, father and grandfather. To all the doctors, our Dad use to say, "I buried many of your mistakes." LOL! From all of us, we love you! He is survived by the following: wife, Lillian Staggie of Ashton, Idaho; Daughters: Rose Johnson, Teresa Holverson, and Pennie Breedlove all of Idaho Falls; sons: Frank Staggie and Chuck Staggie both of Idaho Falls and Paul Staggie of Smithfield, Utah; Brothers: John Staggie, Robert Staggie, and Stephen Staggie all of Idaho Falls; Sister, Alta Simmons of Island Park, Idaho; 29 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Lilly. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James P. Staggie; 3 brothers: William, Richard, and David Staggie; 2 sisters: Wilma and Caroline; and a grandson, Dennis Blake Staggie. A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. next Saturday, October 6, 2012, at the Eagles' Lodge, 635 Hemmert Dr., in Idaho Falls.
