Jan (JC) C. Oler passed away May 9, 2012, surrounded by family. He was born September 10, 1940, to his loving parents, Donald J. Oler and Mary Ellen Young in Raymond, Alberta, Canada. The family moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Jan meet and married the love of his life, Janice Rowberry. They were married January 15, 1962, and sealed for time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple December 9, 1978. Jan and Janice celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. Jan was a proud member of the US Navy, serving a tour in Okinawa Japan as a corpsman. Jan will be remembered by all who know him for his love of fishing with Janice, hunting, ice cream, his famous peach milk shakes, a joke for every occasion, his kindness and service to others. He is survived by his wife, Janice; son Brad (Vergae) Oler, daughter Becky (David) Aaron, grandchildren Josh, Kent, Grant, Mike, Chase, Raschelle, Celia, Chelsie and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Don, Keith, Larry, Clair and Kirt Oler. Interment and graveside services will be held Friday, May 18, 2012, at 1:00 pm in Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery, Shelley, Idaho, with military rites performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the Idaho Military Honor Guard.
