Jean Ann Messenger Johnson of Shelley, Idaho, was called home to our Heavenly Father on January 6, 2010, at the young tender age of 68. She was born February 9, 1941 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Alan Ray Messenger and Edwina Maude Porter Messenger. She grew up in Ogden, Utah, and graduated from Ogden High School in 1958. On October 12th 1958 Jean married George Max Cunningham, with the marriage came three beautiful daughters. They later divorced. On September 1, 1967, Jean married Kenneth Lamar Johnson, and with the marriage came two more beautifully wonderful children. They later divorced. Jean is survived by her five children, Peggy (W. Norton) Wade of Twin Falls, Idaho; Bonnie (Glen) Pierce of Del City, Oklahoma; Becky (Keith) Courts of Portland, Oregon, Ken (Holly) Johnson of Idaho Falls, and Belinda Johnson (Tony) of Idaho Falls; 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; many dear friends and even more extended family. She is preceded in death by parents, siblings: Ray, Viola, Harry, Frances & Bobbie; a son, Billy; and granddaughters, Marnie & Becka. "Grandma Jean" was a crafty woman who enjoyed making swags and floral arrangements often attended flea markets with her works of art. She loved to spend time with her family and dear friends. She loved to drive, as long as her navigator "Sassy" was by her side she'd drive anywhere. Grandma loved to shop, for anything... she was quite the trooper when it came down to a day of shopping. She collected dolphins, swans and anything the grandchildren made her. Grandma wasn't a tall woman, all the grandchildren knew that they'd hit the elementary "milestone" once they were taller than her. It wasn't too hard to beat the four foot something, but Grandma took it all in good spirits and was delighted to remind us that "dynamite comes in small packages." Please God take care of our petit package, she is one special gal. "We love and miss you mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend". Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the services. Online condolences and a sympathy card may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com
