Jennie Bennett Lee, 94, a lifelong resident of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away from natural causes on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at Idaho Falls Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. Jennie was born May 2, 1917, to Roy H. Bennett and Lucille Milner Bennett at the family home on the corner of 17th Street and Holmes in Idaho Falls. She attended local schools and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She attended Hennigar Business College in Salt Lake City and upon her return to Idaho Falls was employed as a receptionist and bookkeeper for several area physicians. On November 26, 1944, she married Arden K. Lee in Twin Falls, Idaho. They resided on an 80 acre farm on St. Clair Road which is now the Jennie Lee Addition. She and Arden then moved to the family farm on South Holmes where she resided until the time of her death. The Jennie Lee family, along with her sister, Virginia Questa, and her family were instrumental in the development of the Albertson's Shopping Center, Shopko, Sam's Club, and Home Depot. Jennie was an accomplished pianist and participated in many recitals. She was a life member of Henrietta Chapter #21, Order of Eastern Star. Jennie, Arden, and son, Ben, spent many summers in Island Park at their Henry's Lake ranch. Survivors included her husband of 66 years, Arden; son, Bennett (Judy) Lee of Idaho Falls; sister, Virginia Questa of Reno, Nevada; nephew, Craig Questa of Reno; two granddaughters: Rori Lee (Dan Rooney) of Reno, Nevada; and Erin Lee of Idaho Falls, and two great-grandchildren, Maxwell Rooney and Marley Rooney. Graveside services for the immediate family will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, Idaho.
