Jerry Dean Billman, 64, of Idaho Falls, died Feb. 22, 2008, at his home. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
He was born October 26, 1943, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to William Billman and Josephine Louise Jensen Billman. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls. In 1963, he graduated from Idaho Falls High School and then attended Ricks College.
On May 27, 1966, he married Suzanne Hendricks in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Washington state for 29 years before moving back to Idaho Falls in 1999.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission to the Central Atlantic States from 1963-1965. He served as a scoutmaster and as a counselor in the Bishopric.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening, spending time with his wife, Suzanne, and his 23 grandchildren.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, who prized family above all else.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Billman of Idaho Falls; 2 daughters, Laurie (Wes) Parr of Spokane, WA, and Wendie (Kevin) Thompson of Lacey, WA; 5 sons, Rodney (Tammy) Billman of Idaho Falls, Bryan (Elisabeth) Billman of Filer, ID, Brad (Nicole) Billman of San Antonio, TX, Gary (Tara) Billman of Idaho Falls, and Wayne (Amanda) Billman of Idaho Falls; one brother, Arlo (Barbara) Billman of Idaho Falls; one sister, Sue Billman of Salt Lake City; and 23 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Josephine Billman, brothers: Ray and Reed, and a sister, May.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the Idaho Falls LDS North Stake Center Chapel, 955 Memorial Dr., Idaho Falls with Bishop Todd Johnson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Jerry Billman Memorial Fund at the Bank of Idaho.
