Joan C. Elliott, 87, of Iona, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice.

Joan was born on August 16, 1930, in Rigby, Idaho to Allen and Lilly Poole Call. She grew up in the Rigby area and graduated from Rigby High School. She received her nursing degree from Salt Lake Nursing School.

She moved to Pasco, Washington where she met Gene Elliott. On February 23, 1955, the eloped to Courd' Alene, Idaho, then they returned to Rigby, Idaho, their first son, Doug, was born. The little family moved to Iona, Idaho where they built their home. They had their second son, Robert, and their daughter, Lori. Joan lived in the home for over 50 years. After they retired they purchased a home in Arizona and became snowbirds, enjoying golfing and the warm weather. Gene died on February 14, 2010.

Joan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a primary teacher.

Besides spending time with her family, Joan enjoyed golfing and sewing.

She is survived by her children: Doug (Sherrie) Elliott of Iona, Idaho, Robert Elliott of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Lori (Nelson) Henry of Boise, Idaho; four brothers; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Elliott; her parents: Allen and Lilly Call; and her sister, Betty Williams.
