Joan was born in Orange, California on August 16, 1944, and passed away on March 18, 2025, at the age of 80 in Idaho Falls, Idaho surrounded by her loving family.
Joan is survived by her 6 children: Wendy, Brian, David (Angel), Steven (Erin), Andreya (Justin), and Shaun (Nora). 12 grandchildren: Alice, Madison, George Jr., Zack, Kira, Tate, Cole, Tayla, Kaydence, Jeron, Kendrick, and Benjamin. 5 great grandchildren: Melanie, George III, Cassidy, Isabella, Mason. She is survived by her brothers, Richard and Kevin (Rita) and her sister, Lynda. In her time, she was called mother and grandmother by many others: George Sr., Dawn, Brittany, Joeb, Holly and her daughter Emma, Chance (Thea) and their children Cayson, Claire and Carmen and many others.
Joan was an avid reader and enjoyed a myriad of genres. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, hook rugs and recently diamond art. She had an extensive collection of owl figurines and memorabilia. Everyone knew she loved owls and would receive them as gifts from her children and grandchildren.
Joan loved to travel whenever possible. She was able to take a trip to Germany and see parts of Europe and would often talk about what she saw and the experiences she had while there. For birthdays, she would travel to different destinations with her daughters to places she always wanted to see or even places she had already been but wanted to see again. While traveling she enjoyed listening to The Eagles and Adrea Bocelli, they were two of her favorites. She also loved Elvis.
Joan's final resting place will be Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa, ID where she will be with her mother, Phyllis Moran, grandfather, Allen O'Neill and grandmother, Beatrice O'Neill. A private graveside ceremony will take place at a later date.
