Joan P. Whitmoyer, 84, of Ammon, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at her home.
Joan was born on July 30, 1938, in Rexburg, Idaho to Ralph Peterson and Naomi Lorraine Kragar Peterson. She grew up in Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School. She attended LDS Business College, Western Wyoming College, and Las Vegas Community College.
In 1978, she married Theodore Fred Whitmoyer in Rigby, Idaho. They were married for thirty-five years before he passed away on November 11, 2013. Joan worked as a secretary for an Attorney, Reginold Reeves. She also worked as an office manager at the Hoover Dam and retired as an office manager at Madison Memorial Hospital.
Joan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission to Kentucky with Theodore after they retired. She enjoyed painting and baking, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three sons: Chad Skinner of Idaho Falls, Kris Skinner of Rigby, and Jay (Andrea) Weatherston of Corpus Christi, Texas; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Monday, January 23, 2023, at the Ammon 4 th Ward, 3000 Central Ave., Idaho Falls with a visitation one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Ammon Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com .
