She was born December 7, 1941, in Vancouver, Washington, to Joseph Vaughn and Lois Koplin Vaughn. Her family moved to South Dakota, where she spent her childhood and most of her adult years.

Jo Ann followed her husband around the country as he worked on various construction projects before she settled in Idaho Falls.

Jo Ann was a strong, adventurous, courageous, valiant person, and always had her children's best interests in her heart.

She is survived by the following: Children: Sue (Mike) Yost of Idaho Falls Pam (Darnell) Knoll of Bismark, North Dakota John (Donna) Hobart III of Gillette, Wyoming Matt Hobart of Idaho Falls mother, Lois Vaughn of Rapid City, South Dakota brother, Jerold (Patty) Vaughn of Pactola, South Dakota 8 grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her father. Services will be held in Rapid City, South Dakota, followed by a Memorial Service in Idaho Falls at 4:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2006, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. with Michael Kennedy officiating.
