John Richard (Johnny) Golba, 72, of West Yellowstone, Montana, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
John was born on August 12, 1951, in Gardner, Kansas, to John H. and Lois E. Powell Golba. He grew up in Shawnee, Kansas, and graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1969.
After high school, John joined the United States Air Force. He served from 1970-1976.
Once he was discharged from the Air Force, he went on to graduate from Colorado Barber College in 1980. He started a barber shop, John's Barber Shop in 1980 in Evergreen, Colorado. His sister, Carolyn joined in partnership in 1988. In 2021, he retired and moved to West Yellowstone, Montana, and became part owner of Serenity Wildlife Tours. He was still working with tours at the time of his death.
John was a member of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed being outdoors, snowmobiling, fly fishing, or watching the wildlife. He loved to travel whenever he had the chance.
He is survived by his brother, Charles (Becky) Golba of Louisburg, Kansas; his sister, Marylyn Cansler of Shawnee, Kansas; his brother, Timothy Golba of Lenexa, Kansas; and his sister, Carolyn Golba of West Yellowstone, Montana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Lois E. Golba.

Funeral services will be held in Kansas, on Monday, February 5, 2024, at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 555 W. Main Street, Gardner, Kansas. The family will visit with friends at 10:00 a.m., a Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the Mass following at 11:00 a.m. Monday. Interment will be at Saint Columbia Cemetery in Gardner.
