Obituary

John Henry Holverson, 72, of Idaho Falls, passed away on September 17, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. John was born on June 17, 1942, in Idaho Falls, to John and Bertha Wilkie Holverson. In 1960 he graduated from Idaho Falls High School. During his younger years, John loved spending his summers in Malta, Montana. On June 15, 1966, he married Shirley Burke in Idaho Falls, and they were later divorced. On October 6, 1990, in Longview, Washington he married Darlene Higgins. While living in Longview he worked as a cook and continued his love for cooking when they returned to Idaho Falls at North Highway Café. John also worked for Wal-Mart for five years. John loved going to the Gaither Concert and took a lot of pride in his yard. He was a hard worker and enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Holverson, of Idaho Falls, his sons Jeff (Brenda) Holverson and Eric Holverson, his daughters Shelly Holverson, and Sheila Holverson, all of Salmon, Idaho, his brothers Dennis (Carolyn) Wilkie, of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Darrell (Marilyn) Holverson, of Pocatello, Idaho, his sister Bonnie Young, of Washington, and fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha Holverson and his brother Larry Holverson and his sister Lorraine Holverson. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2014, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Family will visit with friends one hour prior to services.
