John Albert Kramer, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023. He was under the care of Aspen Hospice.

John was born on April 4, 1948, to Thomas Kramer and Luella Miller Kramer in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He grew up in the Idaho Falls area and attended Idaho Falls High School, graduating in 1966.

After graduation, he joined the United States Army on June 26, 1967. He served in Giessen, Germany. He was honorably discharged on June 16, 1970, with the rank Specialist 5.

In 1967 he married Jacqueline Andrus, and they had two children while living in Germany. They were later divorced. On November 30, 1973, he married Bonnie Smout in Idaho Falls and together they had 3 more children.

John started working for Mountain Bell in communications. He retired after thirty-nine years from CenturyLink in 2012.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, including camping, traveling, and cruises. He collected football cards, antique model cars, and anything about the San Francisco 49ers. He also enjoyed going to antique car shows and drag races. He was a quiet, gentle, soft-spoken man. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

John is survived by his wife, Bonnie Kramer of Idaho Falls, ID; his daughters: Karry Peterson of Idaho Falls, ID, Robin (James) Adams of Rigby, ID, and Aubrae (Alex) Sloan of Boise, ID; his sons: Johnny (Lee)  Kramer of Lewisville, ID, and Jason (Denae) Kramer of Moscow, ID; his sister, Connie (Roger) Hanson of Boise, ID; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Luella Kramer; and his sister, Bonnie Liljenquist.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. A visitation will be held from 10:00-10:45 a.m., prior to the service. Military Rites will be performed by Bonneville County Veterans and the Idaho Honor Guard.
