John "Joe" Lewis, 73, died of natural causes 11/17/2010. Joe began his life on December 23, 1936, on a homestead across the street from the old school and church in Oakley, Idaho. Joe was reared in Oakley until the family moved to West Yellowstone and ended in Idaho Falls. Joe went to Idaho Falls High School where he met the love of his life Sharron. The two were married days later in 1955. He was a veteran of the US Navy. After serving the country, he was hired by the City of Idaho Falls. He worked with the maintenance crew and his wife encouraged him to go back to ISU where he was trained to be a journeyman electrician. He worked on the bulb turbine project which the city uses currently and retired in January 1993. He enjoyed indoor sports, any that would let you watch drinking a few beers with friends or just with his wife. He had good times at Dusty's Tavern until they joined the Eagles Lodge where he also had many friends. He did enjoy one outdoor sport although he got very frustrated by it (Golf) who doesn't. Joe was a straightforward man who called a spade a spade. We will miss him very much!!!! Joe left to be on their own wife, Sharron and two sons and their wives Ernie (Kay) and John (Jodi) and 10 grandkids with one great "bun in the oven." In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Primary Children's medical Center; P.O. Box 58249; Salt Lake City, UT 84158-0249. A Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the Eagles Lodge. Condolences may be sent online at www.coltrinmortuary.com
