Obituary

Dave craved adventure. Right out of high school, he rode his motorcycle from Idaho Falls to Los Angeles. In adventure, Dave found freedom and peace. He was artistic, curious, and held a strong sense of justice which led him into his beloved profession of broadcast journalism. Dave started his career as a photojournalist in Idaho Falls and worked at stations in Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Fresno, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati. He traveled the world for journalism and as an independent videographer, once coming face to face with a bull shark in the Bahamas. He leaned outside a hovering helicopter to capture video of flames escaping a devastating mine fire.

He loved to drive his boat and motorcycle. He loved scuba diving, and he tried skydiving. Most of all, Dave loved his two incredible children, Jess and Cole. He was a doting and patient father, who loved to take his kids on the boat or lead the fireworks celebration in the neighborhood. He wanted the best for his kids. He was also a loving son who spent the last years of his life caring for his elderly parents. He loved his family, and he fought his demons. We lost him too soon and know that in death, he has finally found the peace that alluded him in life.

Dave is survived by his two sons: Jess David Rigby (Brittany Guh) and Cole Walker Rigby; and his father, Henry Rigby.
