IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jonathan
Bell
March 17, 1981 – November 2, 2021
Jonathan Webster Bell was born on March 17, 1981, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was released from his pain on November 2, 2021, in Idaho Falls, Idaho after a strong fight with Covid 19, surrounded by his loving wife and amazing parents.
Jon attended Whittier Elementary and Hunter Junior High in West Valley City, Utah. He graduated from Skyline High School in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He excelled at Stevens-Henagar College, later in life, but was unable to continue due to his kidney failure.
Jon served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Indiana from 2000-2002. He spent a lot of his mission on the Purdue campus and fondly told stories about that time. He served in many Church positions throughout his life which included: being a Ward and Branch clerk, Sunday School President, and a teacher for various callings. He thoroughly enjoyed his involvement in many church activities including Scouting (Eagle Scout), Aaronic Priesthood Quorums, Singles Branch activities, and assisting his wife, Sara, with the Sunbeams in Primary. Many people have mentioned his prayers said a lot about him, as they were deeply sincere, simple, and powerful.
Jon met his soulmate and best friend, Sara Burch, in 2015 and they were sealed on January 16, 2016, in the Rexburg Idaho Temple. Their relationship, although short, was loving, healing, filled with service and a lot of devastating medical challenges. They both have had great faith and have been brave through their disabilities. Jon's wife never left his side, and their marriage was as strong as the titanium of his prosthetic leg.
Over the years Jon worked a variety of jobs. He worked for Campbell Striping, Jeff Wood Tree Service, Hyde Drift Boats, Idahoan Foods, Broadway Ford, Melaleuca, Pizza Hut, Bloxham Construction, Armory Plastics, Premier Technologies, Walmart, Teton Human Services, Brady's, and lastly, he worked side by side with his wife making all kinds of quilts.
Jon faced many physical disabilities and setbacks in life. Due to his experiences, he had real compassion for the disabled, the injured, and those with similar difficulties. One thing he always did was explain and show little kids that just because his prosthetic leg looked different it was okay to ask questions. He was ever the underdog and faced challenges as they came with his faithful, three-legged, fur pup named Tinkerbell. Jon loved playing games of all kinds and relished the time he spent with his brothers, especially during their Bell Boy outings. He was a great listener, a good traveling companion, and a friend to all he met. Jon was a gentle giant with an enormous heart who loved to make things and was always supportive to others. You rarely saw him in anything but camouflage, sporting a Ford hat and talking about trucks.
The Bell family wishes to extend their gratitude to all who worked with and taught Jon and encouraged him on his journey here on earth. They are especially thankful for the excellent caring service he received from Idaho Falls Community Hospital and the Idaho Kidney Center.
Jon is survived by his wife, Sara Bell. His parents, Stan and Candace Bell. His siblings, Mindy McBrien, Blake (Heather) Bell, Monica Bell Little (Ryan), Spencer (Kellie) Bell, and Jordan (Courtney) Bell.
