Obituary

Jordan Glenn Nelson, 26, adoring father, husband, son and brother passed away on June 1, 2013 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Jordan was born on March 14, 1987 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the youngest son of Mark and Christine Haymond Nelson. He loved that he shared a birthday with his best friend and sister, "Nats." He attended Idaho Falls High School excelling in basketball and football where his athleticism, size and indomitable spirit intimidated opponents and endeared him to teammates and coaches. He pursued his love of football at the University of Utah. He served an LDS mission to Independence, Missouri from 2006-2007; and during his youth, he served a mission with his family in Madrid, Spain from 1991 through 1994. Jordan married Rachel Marie Matheny on January 30, 2010 in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple, American Fork, Utah. He adored their beautiful daughter, Hadley, and above all, treasured being Hadley's daddy. Jordan was a gentle giant who championed the underdog. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed teasing and playing with his siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was a natural comedian making people laugh. His warm heart and contagious smile made everyone feel as if he was their best friend. Jordan earned his Eagle Scout Award and especially enjoyed snowmobiling and jet skiing. He owned and operated Wholesale Direct Tire and Wheel. He is survived by his wife, Rachel, and daughter, Hadley Reese Nelson of Idaho Falls, his parents, Mark and Christine Nelson, his in-laws , David and Laurel Udall, brother, Aaron (Lana) Nelson and sister, Natalie (Eric) Beck, sister-in-law, Tracey Wilcox Nelson, grandparents, Glenn C. and Emma Jane Nelson, and Dean and Mildred Haymond and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Nathan C. Nelson. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 8th at 11 am at the LDS Chapel at 3195 S Holmes, located at the corner of Sunnyside and Homes, with Bishop Wesley Frey conducting. The family will visit with friends Friday, June 7th at the Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 1st Street, Idaho Falls, ID from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and one hour prior to services at the church.
