Jose "Joe" Abie Garcia, 77, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 1, 2010 at his home. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. He was born April 30, 1933, in Monte Vista, Colorado. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He married Mary F. Cisnaros. She died September 5, 1999. He later met and became companions to Mary Garcia. He worked at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah, at Ogden Park Hotel, Farr's Better Ice Cream, Ogden Turkey Plant, Walmart and Albertsons. Joe liked to be with family and friends. He also liked long drives, watching wrestling and watching weekly shows. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and playing pool. He is survived by the following: Companion, Mary Garcia of Idaho Falls; Daughter, Cindy Bustamantes of Fresno, California; Daughter, Debra Garcia of Ogden, Utah; Son, Randy (Dorthy) Garcia of Kuna, Idaho; Son, Todd (Kathie) Garcia of Boise, Idaho; Step-son, James Holbert of Ogden, Utah; Step-daughter, Maxine (Sheldon) Carter of Denver, Colorado; Step-daughter, Perline (Harry) Porter of Layton, Utah; Step-daughter, Jolene (Jim) Burnie of Sacramento, California; 24 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary F. Garcia. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the LDS 11th Ward building, 1235 Juniper in Idaho Falls.
