Jose Refujio Acevedo, 79, of Idaho Falls, died November 13, 2005, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was born July 4, 1926 in San Antonio, Hidalgo, Mexico, to Fernando Acevedo and Tiburcia Lopez. He grew up in San Antonio and Hidalgo.

On October 6, 1949, he married Cruz Hernandez in Zimapan, Hidalgo, Mexico. He was a laborer in the mines.

He was associated with the Jehovah's Witnesses.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife, playing the guitar and harmonica, and singing. He was a friendly individual who liked to provide for his family.

He is survived by the following: wife, Cruz Acevedo of Idaho Falls daughters: Claudia Acevedo and Eva (Miguel) Resendiz both of Idaho Falls daughters: M. Isabel Acevedo and Maxima (Narciso) Acevedo both of Zimapan, Hidalgo, Mexico sons: Jacinto (Luz) Acevedo and Eusebio Acevedo both of Blackfoot son, Juan Acevedo of Idaho Falls sister, Agustina Acevedo of Zimapan, Hidalgo, Mexico sister, Nicanor Acevedo of Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico 17 grandchildren 10 great grandchildren

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2005, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
