Joshua W. Rand, 38, of Idaho Falls, died Sunday, July 22, 2018.
Joshua was born on June 29, 1980 to Warren Revere Rand Jr. and Donna Diane Welch Rand in Portland, Oregon. He grew up in Portland until 1998 when the family moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1999.
On July 15, 2016, he married his sweetheart, Heather Ann Elawadly in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Together they raised 4 children.
He worked in several places in Portland before moving to Idaho Falls. He worked for over 10 years in construction before he began doing lights and sound boards for several local bands as well as for Cornerstone Pentecostal. He volunteered at the Dora Erickson Elementary library for 4 years. He later owned an at home business, JR Guitars, where he built customized and repaired guitars.
Joshua was an Eagle Scout and a Cub Scout leader.
He loved music, fixing and playing guitars. He enjoyed drawing, Halloween, all things horror and MMA. He loved his family and friends. He tried to live as normal a life as he could despite his seizure disorder.
He is survived by his wife, Heather Rand; his son, Adrian Rand; his daughter, Melody Rand; his stepsons: Patrick Wolski and Kenie Wolski, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his sisters: Kathleen Snyder of Kennewick, Washington and Shelley Shore of Gresham, Oregon; his brothers: James Peak of Portland, Oregon and Evan Daniels of Portland, Oregon; his mother, Donna Rand, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and his grandmother, Beverly Rand of Milwaukie, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Warren R. Rand Jr.; his grandfather, Warren R. Rand SR.; his grandparents, Sunny and Frank Meads.
Memorial services will be held at 5 pm, Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Esquire Park, 800 Moonlite Drive, Idaho Falls. This memorial will be a pot luck and bring a dish to share if you are able. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gladly appreciated. There will also be a Celebration of Life benefit concert at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street.
