Obituary

Judith Jeppesen Ahrens, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family, from complications of a surgery.

Judy was born on October 8, 1941, to Alice O'Brien Jeppesen and Curtis Jeppesen in Spokane, Washington. She grew up in Teton Valley. She attended Driggs High School and later earned her GED in 1980.

On August 16, 1957, she married Dale Eugene Bainbridge in Jackson, Wyoming. To this union two children were born. They were later divorced. She married Blake Schvaneveldt, and they were later divorced. She married William Gordon Ahrens.

She helped her husband's family with their potato and grain farm, worked as a waitress, at Ace Hardware, then earned her CNA license while living in Soda Springs. She had a ceramic store in her home while living in Soda Springs while married to Blake Schvaneveldt.

In 1970, while married to Blake, she became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

While living in Soda Springs, Judy was the director of the activities department at the hospital.

Judy enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, canning, sewing and the outdoors. Her favorite was enjoying her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Terri (Jon) Wilkinson of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her son, Glen Bainbridge of Idaho Falls, Idaho; granddaughters: Sara (LeRoy) McCormick, Susy (Floyd) Calder, Christen Bainbridge and Natasha Bainbridge all of Idaho Falls, Idaho; grandsons: Joshua Ortiz of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Tyson Miles of Afton, Wyoming; her sister, Susan Palmer of Washington; her half-brother, Pete Jeppesen of Alaska; 12 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and her faithful dogs.

A celebration of life will be at her daughter's home on Judy's birthday, October 8, 2018. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
