Judy Lee Colby, age 76, of Idaho Falls, Idaho peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.

Judy will be remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and her fun sense of humor.

Judy was born September 6, 1945 in Phillips, TX to L.P. and Virginia Cummings Smith. She was raised in Idaho Falls, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1962.

After high school she attended and graduated from Glen E. Clark Secretarial School Idaho Falls, Idaho. Later, she was employed at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory from 1966 to 1968.

On August 8, 1969 she married Harrison Deloss Colby in Nampa, ID. Together they raised 5 children. She was a homemaker. Over the years Judy and her family lived in Portland, OR; Firth, ID; Glasgow, MT; and Nampa, ID; and Idaho Falls, ID.

She enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, fishing, motorcycle rides, listening to music (she loved Elvis Presly), she loved spending time with her two dogs (Zola and Bella), playing the piano and the pipe organ. She was a loving, caring person who was always happy and loved joking around and being with her family.

Judy is survived by her husband Harrison Colby, of Idaho Falls; sons, Aldon Colby of Blackfoot, Idaho, Michael G. Colby (Carla) of Idaho Falls, and Darrell Colby of Idaho Falls; daughters, Robin Colby of Idaho Falls, and Brandy Colby Orellana (Pablo) of Germantown, Maryland, and 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Shirley Sterns.

Memorial Services will be held at 1p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Coltrin Mortuary. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Cremation is under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls. Condolences may be sent online at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
