She was born June 1, 1917, in Santa Monica, California to George Allen and Elsie Whitehead Allen. She grew up in Southern California, and graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1934.

She spent most of her life in California until she moved to Idaho three years ago to be closer to her family.

She loved to paint, especially, portraits of all of her children and grandchildren.

June loved to be surrounded by family and at family gatherings; she enjoyed living close to the ocean nearly her whole life.

She is survived by the following: sons: Ken (Donna) Benfield of Rexburg, Idaho, and John (Debbie) Benfield of Oceanside, California 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Boyd; 2 daughters, Jacque and Maureen.
