Karissa Ann Lundberg Richardson, 34, of Idaho Falls, died Monday, October 2, 2017, from liver failure, at her home. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
Karissa was born December 28, 1982, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was the third of five children born to Brett and LaRee Lundberg. She grew up in Idaho Falls, and attended Hillcrest and Lincoln High Schools and received her G.E.D. from Eastern Idaho Technical College.
When she was 17 she met Kyle Richardson. They dated for several years and were blessed with a son Payten Kyle Richardson born on September 25, 2001. They were married on August 22, 2003, and were later divorced.
Karissa held several jobs in the community. Through High School she worked at Pizza Hut, and later had retail jobs at Sears, The Bon Marche (Macy's), Kathryn's Restaurant at the airport, and Frontier Pies.
She enjoyed watching her son Payten play sports and spending time with her many nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed making crafts, listening to music, and gardening with Grandma Lois.
In recent years she met and lived with Mark Cheney in Idaho Falls. In the last year especially, he has helped care for her, and was by her side with her parents when she passed.
She is survived by her son, Payten Kyle Richardson, of Rigby, Idaho; her parents: Brett and LaRee Lundberg, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her longtime boyfriend, Mark Cheney, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her sisters: Darcy (Ben) Egbert, of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Brittany Lundberg (Nick Howell), of Billings, Montana; her brothers: Jason Lundberg (Amy Whitehead) and Brian Lundberg, both of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her grandmother, Lois Andersen, of Rigby, Idaho; 11 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Lloyd Andersen, Weldon Lundberg, Kathaleen Lundberg and Verdan Cordingley; and a brother-in-law, Arden Mecham.
In lieu of flowers any donations made to the family will be placed in a college fund for Payten at any Key Bank branch, under the account name Payten Richardson College Fund.
A short Memorial service will be held Sunday October 15, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with an open house to visit with family following until 5:00 p.m., at the home of Lois Andersen 4257 E. 300. N. Rigby Idaho 83442.
