IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathleen
Burgener
August 8, 1940 – May 17, 2016
Kathleen Burgener, 75, of Idaho Falls, left this life to return to her Heavenly Father, parents, son and granddaughter on May 17, 2016. Kathleen passed away from failing health. She was under the care of her loving family, Hands of Hope Hospice and the staff at Good Samaritan Center.
Kathleen was born on August 8, 1940, to Albert and Alice Ure in Driggs, Idaho.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kathleen had great love for her Heavenly Father and had such undying faith. What a wonderful example she has been to so many. She was such a giving and loving person.
She met the love of her life, Noris Burgener, while attending school in the valley. Noris and Kathleen were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 9, 1958. She graduated from high school in 1959. They were blessed with four children: David Noris, Hevenlee, Kimberly and Audra Judy.
Noris and Kathleen traveled out of state for construction jobs, but soon learned their home would be in Idaho Falls. They started to build their own auto body shop in 1968, known as Classic Truck and Auto Body. Kathleen worked side by side in her overalls with Noris, while raising four children. She was the co-owner and secretary of the business for many years.
Kathleen loved gardening; she was always planting such beautiful flower pots and gardens.
She had such a love for things that sparkled, which showed in her taste of jewels and clothing. She has certainly passed that down to her daughters. She always kept such good care of herself and we are so proud of her for that, she taught us well.
She was more of a reserved lady, especially after the abduction of her granddaughter, Amber. The love of her life is and will always be her husband of 57 years, Noris, whom she always referred to as the "wind beneath my wings".
She is survived by her husband, Noris Burgener, her children: Hevenlee (Brent) Hoopes, Kimberly (Thayle) Taylor and Audra Judy Burgener (Chad Williams); her siblings: Karen (Frank) Willis, Kent (Janell) Ure, and Robyn (Matt) Bowen; along with her little dog, Bogart; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Alice Ure; her son, David Noris and her granddaughter, Amber Shawnell Hoopes.
We are so greatful to have shared these years with you—we love you "more than you know" and we will forever miss you. Mom always said all that we have and are we owe to our Heavenly Father.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses for caring for her over the last few years, which were such a struggle for her.
In lieu of flowers the family would ask that you make a donation to Hands of Hope Hospice in her name.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2016 at Lincoln LDS Stake Center, 2545 Mesa. The family will visit with friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Sunday, May 22, 2016 and one hour prior to services both at the church. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com .
