Kathy Bingham Rees Wood, 59, died Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, from an extended illness. Kathy was born March 23, 1951, in Coalville, Utah, to Dr. Leonard John Bingham and Helen Williams Bingham, the youngest of 5 children. She moved with her family from Kamas, Utah, to Idaho in 1954. She was educated in the Idaho Falls school system, graduating from Skyline High School in 1969, where she was a class historian and member of the Teddy Bear drill team. She attended the Church College of Hawaii in Laie, Hawaii, and Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Kathy married James Milton Rees in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple, June, 1971. They were later divorced. She married Carter Wood, December, 2007. Kathy's artistic talent was manifested in the beautiful floral arrangements she created. Family and friends alike benefited from this talent. She was a loving, giving person who will be sorely missed. She is survived by her husband, Carter; daughter, Mindy Sudweeks; mother, Helen Bingham; brother, Jeff Bingham and sister, Susan (Trent) Whittle; 3 grandchildren, Michaela, McKennan, and Mitchel and 6 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, L. John Bingham and brothers, John and David. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 18, 2011, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho, at 11:00 a.m.. A visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Fielding Memorial Park.
