IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Keith Wilding
Brown
January 7, 1933 – July 8, 2005
Keith Wilding Brown was born to Jesse and Vada Brown on January 7, 1933, in Idaho Falls. He passed away on July 8, 2005, in Meridian, Idaho.
Keith spent his early life in Ucon, Idaho where he attended elementary and high school. In high school he excelled in the sports program, particularly basketball and baseball. After graduation Keith attended Ricks College where he played basketball for the Vikings. On June 20, 1952, he married his high school sweetheart, Lorraine Jensen, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Keith knew the value of hard work and took pride in a task well done. In 1955 Keith was hired at Westinghouse Electric at the AEC site in the Naval Reactor program. In 1974 he started working for Wheeler Electric where he stayed for 25 years.
Keith had many interests and hobbies. He loved fishing and hunting with his close friends. He loved gardening and making his home and surroundings beautiful. One of his hobbies was woodworking and many people were recipients of his beautiful handmade gunstocks.
Keith was active in both community and church service in the Ammon area. His community service consisted of being a member of the city council, establishing a Little League baseball program and he played a major part in providing Ammon with a swimming pool.
He was an active member of the LDS Church, having served willingly and well in responsible ward and stake callings as both Ward and Stake Clerk and a member of the Ammon Stake High Council. In 1999 Keith and Lorraine served a full time mission in constructing the Detroit Michigan temple.
In August of 2004, because of failing health, he moved to Meridian, Idaho, to be nearer to family members. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, of Meridian, and his children, Scott Brown (Janie) of Los Altos, California, Rod Brown (Pamela) of Star, Idaho, Julie Hall (Steven) of Meridian, Idaho, and Derek Brown (Dawn) of West Jordan, Utah. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and sisters, Jessie (Phil) Phillips and Neva Koontz, both of Idaho Falls, and Linda West of Alviso, California.
A viewing will be held at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, on Monday, July 11, 2005 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at 12:00 noon at the Ammon Stake Center, 2055 S. Ammon Road. The family will meet friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the Ammon Stake Center prior to the funeral service.
