Obituary

Kenneth Duncan Burns, 93, of Idaho Falls, died March 23, 2010, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home Idaho Falls Village. He was born December 12, 1916, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Edward Justin Burns and Anna Margaret Boss Burns. He grew up and attended schools in Salt Lake. He graduated from Granite High School. In 1939, he married Frances Luella Brandvold in Salt Lake City. They later divorced. In 1953, he married Dorothy May Brotherton South in Idaho Falls. She passed away in February 1988. He worked for United Electric Supply, at the Small Arms Plant, and for Dixon Paper Company all in Salt Lake City and for Investors Diversified Services in Idaho Falls. He was a member of the Eagle Masonic Lodge, York Rite Lodge, Shrine, Order of the Eastern Star, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and the Rebekah Lodge. He was a member and past Chairman of the Board of the Directors of the Senior Citizens Center. He is survived by a nephew, Gary (Gini) Burns of Albequerque, New Mexico, and a cousin, Carol Rawlins of Bountiful, Utah. Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Richard Melvin Burns and Frank Castle Burns; 3 half-brothers: William Burns, Duane Burns and Peter Burns; and a niece, Neica Willis. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 237 N. Water Idaho Falls, Idaho.
