Ken P. Fallon Sr., 96, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 30, 2012 at Turtle and Crane of cause's incident to age. He was born April 5, 1916, in Goldthwaite, Texas. He married Geneva Whisenant, the love of his life, on November 18, 1934. After working in the petroleum industry in Texas, and the shipyards in San Diego at the beginning of World War II, Ken, his wife and only child moved to Spanish Fork, Utah, in 1942, where he worked on the construction of Geneva Steel in Orem, Utah. From 1944 until 1958, ken worked in construction as a pipefitter-steamfitter on a variety of construction projects throughout Utah, including power plant projects, boiler and science lab construction at BYU in Provo, Utah. In 1958, Ken and his wife moved to Idaho Falls where Ken worked at INL at the chemical plant until he retired in 1981. He was dedicated to his life work before he retired. Ken proudly carried a Union card for over 66 years. Ken held positions in the union he loved and in those positions he advocated for a fair deal and fought for the rights of the Union members he represented. A sharecropper's son, Union membership provided a middle class standard of living for Ken and his family. Ken was treasured by family, friends and neighbors. He was a warm and loving man and a gentleman in every sense of the word. He took loving care of his wife throughout her 27 year battle with cancer until she passed away in May of 1992. They were married for 57 years. He is survived by his only son, Ken P. (Elizabeth) Fallon, Jr., his grandchildren: Pamela Draper, Kirk Fallon, David Cornelius, Tamia Cornelius and Jean Steele, and 15 great grandchildren. Besides his parents and his wife, Ken was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister. Ken's family would like to extend thanks to the St. Paul's United Methodist Church family who embraced him with their love; for the generous and loving care provided by the staff at the Good Samaritan Village, Turtle and Crane, and Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
