Kenton "Kenny" Jack Jensen of Idaho Falls, passed away November 30, 2016, of heart failure at the age of 70. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho and was cared for at The Hospice House.
Kenny was born July 6, 1946, to Jack and Melveen Jensen in Preston, Idaho. He was the oldest of 5 children.
He attended schools in Preston and Idaho Falls. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1964.
In 1968, he married Diana Barsanti of Shelly, Idaho. Together they raised 5 children. Cammie (Ed) Crapo, Jared (Linsey) Jensen, Michael Kenton Jensen (deceased), Jaime (Blair) Bradley, David (Becky) Jensen.
In his younger years, Kenny was an avid fly fisherman and goose hunter. He and Diana were members of the Promenaders Square Dancing Club where they made many enduring friendships. Later in life he found a love for golfing that he enjoyed with many close friends. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles where he served as a Trustee for several Years.
He married Kayla Vest of Idaho Falls, in 1998, in Deer Lodge, Montana. Step-children: Dustin (Michelle) Reed, Landon Reed, Lindsey Oberhansley, Emy (Jeff) Yanez, Abri Yanez and Sydnee (Matt) Pressner.
Together they enjoyed camping, attending soccer games, and ice skating competitions.
Kenny owned and operated the Roto-Rooter of Idaho Falls. He purchased the business from his father, whom he had worked with from the age of 12. Kenny modeled a strong work ethic to his children and grandchildren. He taught them the importance of working hard for the things you want in life. He was a great provider and would do anything he could to help his family and friends. Kenny sold his business and retired in 2013 at the age of 67.
He is survived by his 4 siblings, Cathy (Brent) Preece, Susan Nutall, Matt Jensen, and Peggy Stockton. He is also survived by his four children, 6 step children, 27 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, and many friends and extended family members that he loved.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and his son Michael.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at the Iona 4th Ward Chapel, 1040 N. Crimson, Idaho Falls. The family will meet with friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, and from 10:00-10:45 a.m., prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at the Iona Cemetery, Iona, Idaho.
