Gerald Kevin Tonks, 57, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning on October 5, 2017, with his wife by his side. He succumbed to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident about 2 weeks prior.

He was born on December 29, 1959, in Covina, California, the son of Gerald B. Tonks and Marlyn D. Fenton Tonks.  Kevin was raised in Southern California where he loved surfing and spending endless hours at the beach surrounded by his many friends.

Kevin graduated from Covina High School and attended college in Redlands California.  Kevin started early as an entrepreneur mowing lawns for his spending money.  He gained many skills working for a variety of people before opening his own business cleaning offices and carpets.  He moved to Idaho in the late 1990's where he continued in his Janitorial profession working for local school districts and the JCC before opening Aladdin's Carpet and floor care.

Kevin was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He loved his family, his many longtime friends including those he gained in grade school, his business, El Caminos, the ocean, Scooby doo and peanut butter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald B. Tonks and his elder brother, David Tonks.

He is survived by his wife, Amy L. Tonks; his mother, Marlyn D. Fenton Tonks; his brother, Paul H. (wife DeLaina) Tonks, and his children: Deborah White, Amy D. Tonks, Laura Tonks, Kaitlyn Tonks, Nathan Tonks, and Mathew Tonks; as well as his grandson Gavin White.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October. 14, 2017, at the Willowbrook LDS Ward, 1200 Dunbar, Idaho Falls.  The Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2017, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First street, Idaho Falls and from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church.  Interment will be in Teton-Newdale Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com.
