Obituary

Kim D. Thompson 76, of Idaho Falls, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008, his birthday, at his home.

He was born March 12, 1932 in Logan, Utah to Peter Fergus and Myrtle Iva Durfey Thompson. He grew up and attended schools in Grace, Idaho. He graduated from Grace High School in 1950. After high school he attended the University of Idaho in Moscow, and the Salt Lake Radio Institute. He also served in the US Army in Germany.

He married Sharon Stephens August 10, 1956. They were later divorced. He married Ila Irene Ferrin Anderson on March 7, 1976 in Elko, NV. He lived in Utah, Idaho, and Arizona.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Kim is survived by his wife Ila Irene Thompson, of Idaho Falls; 2 daughters, Peggy Robertson (John) of West Jordan, Utah, and Sharlynn Thompson of Bountiful, Utah; 3 sons, Charles Kim Thompson (Jill) of Bountiful, Utah, Kirk S. Thompson (Marcia) of North Salt Lake City, Utah, and A. Richard Thompson (Jozlyn) of Ammon, Idaho; one step-daughter, Christine Izatt (Len) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 3 step-sons, David Anderson (Teresa) of Shelley, Idaho, Brian Anderson (Shalyce) of Layton, Utah, and Tim Anderson (Lori) of Goodyear, Arizona; and 21 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and his brother Creighton.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2008 at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 16, 2008 from 6-7:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the services both at the mortuary. Interment will take place at the Ammon Cemetery in Ammon, Idaho where Military Rites will be provided by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
