Margaret LaNae Pettingill, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sun., Nov. 25, 2018 at the Gardens in Rigby. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.
LaNae was born on June 18, 1935, to Franklin Thomas Norton and Luna Caroline Kinghorn Norton, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She grew up in Idaho Falls. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1953. She attended Ricks College.
On Dec. 2, 1955, she married Dean J. Pettingill in the Idaho Falls Temple. To this union two boys were born: Bradley and Curtis. They lived in Ogden, Utah, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Yuma, AZ and Star Valley, WY where they enjoyed being "snowbirds".
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed serving in several positions, some are: primary, Relief Society and name extractions for temple work.
LaNae enjoyed her free-time crocheting, knitting, crafts, golf and playing the piano. She will be missed by those who knew her.
She is survived by her sons: Bradley J. (Sherisse) Pettingill of Idaho Falls, ID and Curtis Pettingill of Yuma, AZ; 11 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Franklin and Luna Norton; brothers: Dale Franklin Norton, Darrel K. Norton and Wilmer Roy Norton; sister, Elaine Finn.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Fri., Nov. 30, 2018, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, with Bishop Alma Stumpp officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-1:30 p.m., prior to services. Burial will be at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com .
