LaRena May Deason, 73, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away at Hospice Home in Ammon, Idaho on December 29, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
LaRena was born August 16, 1942, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to John Wsley and Ruby Loretta (Davis) Goodson. She grew up in Lewisville and Howe, Idaho. She attended schools in Menan and Rigby, Idaho.
On September 3, 1959, she married Teddy Joe Deason in Rigby,Idaho. Together they had five children, Larry (Ronda) Deason of Rigby, Idaho; Lorie Shunko of Parker, CO; Julie Deason of Denver, CO; Terry (Ksenia) Deason of St. George, UT and Teddy (Shirley) Deason of Diamondville, WY. She had nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
LaRena was fiercely independent, an avid bowler and enjoyed reading, camping, fishing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whenever she could.
Survivors include her children, sisters: Irene Gifford, Ruth Wakefield, Judy Guthrie, JoAnn Chrisman and Jeanice Dye; brothers Elvin, E.J., Gary, Kent and Darwin Goodson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley and Ruby Goodson; her husband, Ted; and her brother Jack Goodson.
Private family celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Hospice of Eastern Idaho, 1810 Moran St., Idaho Falls, Id 83401.
