LaReta Carol McConnon, 70, of Idaho Falls died June 13, 2005, at her home.

She was born Sept. 14, 1934, in Sheridan, Montana, to Carl Clifton McLaughlin and Elda Matilda Crowley McLaughlin. She grew up in Montana and Washington. In 1951, she graduated from high school in Whitehall, Montana.

On Sept. 17, 1955, she married Gerald Henry McConnon in Montana. They were later divorced. She was a clerk typist at Fairchild Air Force Base and various places in Phoenix, Arizona; San Jose, California; Denver, Colorado; Salt Lake City, Utah; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Oregon. For the past thirty years she has made Idaho Falls her home.

She enjoyed and was very gifted in music, art, oil painting and sewing.

She is survived by the following: daughter, Kim (Steven) Cullman of Coolidge, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and a brother, Clifton (Joan) McLaughlin of Fallon, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private family services were held under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls.
