Larry Edward Janning, 76, of Idaho Falls, died Monday, September 1, 2014 at his home following a seven year long battle with lung cancer. He had been under the care of Teton Hospice. He was born October 10, 1937, in Idaho Falls to Edward Janning and Mildred Hauptman Janning. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School. On December 22, 1975, he married Sandra Mae Jones in Idaho Falls. She passed away November 10, 2008. Larry worked on road construction, bartended at Fords Bar, and in auto sales for Broadway Ford. He retired in 2000. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Larry was an avid bowler, played in a pool league, played softball and enjoyed boxing. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His love for his family and his sense of humor knew no bounds. These two things carried him through his life, and made everyone and everything around him that much more wonderful. Larry is survived by his sons: Cass (Andrea) Dopp and Jeff Dopp both of Idaho Falls and Sidney Dopp of Boise; a daughter, Tina (Paul) Nelson of Pocatello; brothers: Roger (Colleen) Clark and Brent Clark both of Shelley; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; his parents, Delbert and Mildred Clark; his father, Edward Janning; a brother Chet Janning; and a daughter, Terri Dopp. Memorial Services at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2014, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls and Saturday one hour prior to the services at the mortuary.
