Obituary

Larry Eugene Grover “The Buggy Man”, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at his home. He was under the care of Solace Hospice.

Larry was born September 20, 1937, to Royal Eugene Grover and Wanda Ruth Parkinson Grover at the home of his grandparents, John and Margaret Parkinson, in St. Anthony. He grew up in Parker, Idaho, until May 1944, when they moved to Idaho Falls. He also spent many summers in Yellowstone National Park.

He attended Idaho Falls High School and graduated in 1955. He went on to study at Idaho State College in Pocatello and the Auto Body and Fender Trade School. He joined the United States Marine Corps on December 29, 1955, and was honorably discharged three years later in December 1958. He was in the Service Battalion at Camp Pendleton, California, attended electronics schools at Treasure Island, San Francisco, California, and Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

While serving in the military, Larry met his sweetheart, Rae Anne Bassett, and on August 24, 1958, they were married in Livingston, Montana. After more than 60 years together, Rae Anne passed away on February 10, 2019. Together, they had three children: Kimberly, Kevin, and Robin.

In his youth, he lived at various places within Yellowstone National Park, including Norris Geyser Basin, Tower Falls, Canyon, Madison Junction, and Bacon Rind Camp in Gallatin National Park. Larry drove truck over the road for Thiokol and McCowin. He later worked as a diesel mechanic for McCowin Livestock Transportation and Easter Idaho Diesel in Idaho Falls. He later started his own company, Triple L Contractors.

Larry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed showing and riding horses, as well as hunting. He restored sleighs and buggies.

Larry is survived by his children: Kimberly Anne House of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Kevin Eugene Grover of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Robin Grover of South Ogden, Utah; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rae Anne Bassett Grover, his parents, and his sister, Janis Williams.
