IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lee
Crook
April 23, 1942 – November 28, 2024
Lee Crook, 82, of Maricopa, Arizona, passed peacefully from this earth into the arms of his Father in Heaven and eternal life on November 28, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 57 years and son who provided him with comfort and peace in his last moments of life.
Lee was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on April 23, 1942, to Shirrel Lish Crook and Edith Olaveson Crook and was the eldest child of 6 children. Lee enjoyed playing the saxophone in the Pep Band and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1960. He was called to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in The Southern States Mission in 1961. The love and experiences Lee had during his mission resonated with him throughout his life. After returning home from his mission, Lee earned an associate degree at Ricks College. While at Ricks College he was in a dance band called The Kollege Kings, president of the Circle K (a service organization), and a member of Delta Phi Kappa. He then completed a course of study at Idaho State University Technical and Trade School, becoming a papered machinist.
While attending ISU, Lee met his future wife, Lorraine Parker, who was home from college for the summer. They were married for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 25, 1967. Lee and Lorraine settled in Pocatello, Idaho where they established their home and raised their five children: Eric, Scott, Marci, Nate, and Brad. Being a devoted husband and father, Lee worked hard delivering freight and driving truck to ensure the comfort and well-being of his wife and children. After retirement, Lee and Lorraine relocated their home to Maricopa, Arizona to escape the harsh Idaho winters.
Lee loves the Savior and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in numerous callings throughout his life. Lee enjoyed motorcycling with Lorraine and their friends as well as collecting model cars and foreign money. Above anything was his love for his family and the joy he had for his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Maricopa, Arizona; his five children: Eric Crook of Potlatch, Idaho, Scott (Nicole) Crook of Pittsford, New York, Marci Crook (Steven Fortenberry) of Ashton, Idaho, Nate (Jyll) Crook of Tucson, Arizona, and Brad Crook of Clinton, Utah; twelve grandchildren: Scott, Jaycee, Triston, Sophia, Caleb, Macey, Talia, Carlie, Elliot, Shae, Aiden, and Zane; two great-grandchildren: Oliver and Georgia; five siblings: Gerold (Janet) Crook of Blackfoot, Idaho, Judy Crook of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Deloris (Gary) Holmstead of Littleton, Colorado, Duane (Bonnie) Crook of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Terry (Luana Green) Crook of Las Vegas, Nevada.
