IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leonard Wayne
Casella
May 2, 1955 – January 15, 2019
Leonard Wayne Casella, 63, of Idaho Falls, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at his home. He was under the care of Solace Hospice.
Leonard was my sweetheart and my soul mate. He brought joy into my life. I did not think I would find love again at the age of 67. I wept tears when he told me he was in love with me.
His love of family, books, music, poetry, gourmet cooking, art, gardening, friends (especially those at First American), animals and the great outdoors defined him. He was a gentle soul who never got into a fight in his entire life. He owned hundreds of books on many topics, including philosophy, art, music, cooking, gardening, psychology, dreams, herbal remedies, meditation, occult, writing. He is the only person I ever met who owned books by Sigmund Freud and Carl Gustav Jung.
His wish was to become a writer. He wrote poetry.
Even at his sickest he still had a sense of humor, joking with friends and family who came to visit. He spoke fluent sarcasm.
He called himself an "old hippy". He wore Hawaiian shirts and shorts and went barefoot. He sported long hair and beard. He liked bandanas and Willie Nelson. He talked about getting his hair braided.
He collected Superman memorabilia, coins, stamps, books and music.
He absolutely had no hate in him for anyone.
He was with his wife Patricia for 17 years and continued to love her after her death. I truly feel she would approve me loving him.
Sometimes he was quiet and shy, but he had friendship for all in his soul.
Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street. Condolences may be sent to www.coltrinmortuary.com .
