Leonora Mae Sauer Taylor was born September 19, 1929, in Lewisville, Idaho, and passed away on February 3rd, 2017, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, with all of her children by her side.
Leonora was born, educated, married, raised her family, and died all within a few miles of the place of her birth. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in all the auxiliaries. She also served on a mission at the Salt Lake City Family History Center. She enjoyed genealogy and also served as an Idaho Falls Temple ordinance worker. Mom received her love of her country and patriotism from her Father. Mom received her love of gardening from her Mother, and could be seen spending many hours outdoors tending her flowers. Mom always made everyone who came to her home feel warm and welcome with her Grandma Nora feel. She took a lot of pride in her homes, yards, and gardens.
The most important thing in her life was her family. She always considered her family to be her greatest accomplishment and joy. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her life and the joy of her days. She valued her family and treasured her German heritage. She will always be remembered for her integrity, kindness, and positive attitude. She loved her friends and influenced so many with her sweet spirit.
Leonora is survived by her loving sister Carol Prestwich, and her five children: Brent Taylor (Vicki); Greg Taylor (Chris); Teresa Taylor; Kurt Taylor (Leisa); and Nita Bloxham (Kevin); as well as 19 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Leone Sauer, and her siblings Eileen Peterson, Neal Sauer, Melba Foster, Stanley Sauer, and Enid Sauer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Coltman LDS Church 12448 N. 5TH E. Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
