Leroy Elmer "Pat" Cobbley, passed away the morning of July 3, 2015 at home among family and under the care of Aspen Home Hospice and his family. Leroy was born February 24, 1937 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Myron and Blanche Cobbley. Leroy grew up in Springfield, Idaho and then later moved to Border, Wyoming. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Rueben Walter, along with siblings: Robert (Bob) of Pocatello, Idaho; Judy Christiansen of Pocatello, Idaho; and William (Bill) of Roy, Utah. He enjoyed playing football, hunting, and fishing. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ann Bills, October 12, 1957. He attended Idaho State University for a technical degree in diesel mechanics. Along the way he and Mary Ann were blessed with four children: Julie Ann (Roger Sorenson) of Pocatello, Idaho; Donald LeRoy (Alayne) of Afton, Wyoming; and the twins, Janine (Larry Franklin) of Rigby, Idaho, and Janice of Idaho Falls. LeRoy enjoyed working and providing for his family as a mechanic, ending his career working for J.R. Simplot. During this part of his life he was a member of the Jaycees and was a 4-H and scout leader. Leroy was a very patient person and took his time to teach his children and fellow employees how to do the job right the first time. He worked hard in his yard that everyone admired. He was a gifted woodworker and made jewelry boxes for his wife, daughters, and grand-daughters among other woodworking projects. He never gave up an opportunity to spend time with his family and take his grandchildren fishing. He had 5 grandchildren-- Samantha, Jessica (Scott Crapo), Jeffrey, Jennifer (Tyson Graham), Jason-- and 2 great-grand children-- Joseph and Samuel. Leroy was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, father and stepmother, and one half brother. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Coltrin Mortuary, with Bishop Brian McBride officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.
