Obituary

LeRoy Clifford Danvers 86, of Idaho Falls, died Monday, August 22, 2011 at his home. He had been under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. He was born January 27, 1925, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Paul South Danvers and Margit Pauline Haugan Danvers. When Roy was five years old, the family moved to Hollywood, California. He attended schools there and graduated in 1943 from Hollywood High School. He continued his education at the University of Southern California where he earned a degree in business. Roy served his country as a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a Navigator Bombardier. On August 26, 1950, Roy married Charlene Loava Solomon in Long Beach, California. While living in California, Roy worked in the Aerospace Industry and as a wage and salary analyst for Orange County. Following his retirement, he and Charlene moved to Idaho Falls. During retirement, he obtained his private pilot's license. Roy was raised in the LDS Church but he converted to the Lutheran church following his marriage to Charlene. He remained active in both churches throughout his life. Roy enjoyed his work as a Chaplain at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He also enjoyed astronomy, model trains, studying religion, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He and Charlene enjoyed traveling and often spent time traveling to California to see their son and his family. Roy's family all loved him dearly and felt he was the finest husband, father, and grandfather anyone could ever have. He was always a gentleman and will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Loava Danvers of Idaho Falls; a son, John Christopher Danvers of Aliso Viejo, California; a daughter, Catherine Lynn (Bud) Langerak of Idaho Falls; and the following grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Nicole Suzanne Danvers, Rebecca Catherine Danvers, and Christopher John Danvers of Aliso Viejo, California; Chip (Alexis) Langerak of Idaho Falls; two great-grandchildren: Madeleine Grace and Samantha Jane Langerak both of Idaho Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 237 N. Water Ave. with Pastor Brenda Sene officiating.
