Obituary

Letha M. Hardy, 87 of Idaho Falls, passed away April 24, 2021, at Lincoln Court Retirement Center.

Letha was born on January 1, 1934, in Goodlett, Texas to Jones and Mae Leonard.  The family moved to Declo, Idaho where she attended school and graduated as valedictorian of the Class of 1952.

In the summer of 1952, she met her husband of 65 years, Von L. (Roy) Hardy.  They were married on September 16, 1952.  Von worked construction for many years in both Oregon and Idaho where Letha was a mother and homemaker and always supportive of where their next move would be.  In 1968, they moved to Idaho to farm and ranch.  She loved it here.  She attended church every Sunday at the Rigby Community Presbyterian Church where she made many friends and later became the organist, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School.

She loved her family living close and was very supportive of everything they were involved in, especially her granddaughters.  In 2014 Von and Letha moved to Idaho Falls.

She is survived by her daughter, Adelle Clawson; son-in-law, Ron Clawson; granddaughters: Megan Clawson and Morgan Clawson; great-granddaughters: Sophia Grace Palmer and Blakelee Mae Clawson, all of Idaho Falls; A sister-in-law, Anna Leonard of Boise; brother, Clarence (Emma) Leonard of Nampa; and a sister, Diana (Jerry) Berg of Rupert.

She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Von; her parents; her brothers: Orval Leonard and Sol Leonard; sisters: Lena and Linda Leonard; and son, Roy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. October 9, 2021 at the Rigby Community Presbyterian Church, 111 W. 1st S. Rigby. Inurnment will follow in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery in Ririe, ID. Cremation was under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls.
The family would like to extend a thank you to friends and family, Lincoln Court, and Hospice of Eastern Idaho for the love and care given to Letha.
