Lillian Janice Nelson, 87, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, went home Friday, March 2, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice. She was born November 10, 1924, in Felt, Idaho, to Burt and Ouita Arwin Laughlin Whitson. She grew up in Bone and Tetonia, Idaho. She attended schools in Bone. She married George Franklin Nelson in Idaho Falls on March 26, 1940. Frank passed away January 22, 1996. Janice worked at various jobs throughout her life. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, quilting and gardening. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed. Survivors include: Daughters: Lillian (Claud, deceased) Darleen Rackham, Shirley Ann Nelson, Sharon (Colin) Kay Anderson, and Marolyn (Kenneth) Rae Davis Sons: George (Pam) Franklin Nelson Jr. and Gary Nelson Brothers: Harold (Jeannie) Whitson and Samuel (Carol) Powell 23 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at the Idaho Falls LDS Church, 1155 E. First Street, with Bishop Doug Hillman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2012, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Aspen Home and Hospice, 3470 Washington Parkway, Idaho Falls, Idaho, 83404.
