She was born Dec. 29, 1942, in Rigby, Idaho, to Al Leinweber and Verda Morgan Leinweber. She grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1961. She received training at Eastern Idaho Vocational Technical School as a medical office assistant.
She married Ken Labrum. They were later divorced. On September 11, 1970, she married Gary Elg in Elko, Nevada. He died in 1988.
She lived in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Idaho Falls. She worked for EIRMC for 25 years.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, going to Fort Hall, and playing with her grandchildren; Brittaney, Brandelyn, Makyla, and Cary "Gadge" Labrum, and great-grandson, Kayleb Keith Storm.
She is survived by the following: son, Cary (Becky) Labrum of Idaho Falls; sisters: Carlene (Doug) Hadley of Idaho Falls and Holly (Tony) Gordon of Indianapolis, Indiana; brother, Don Leinweber of Washington D.C.; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gary Elg; and a sister, Bonnie Brown.
Funeral services will be at 12 Noon, Monday, March 16, 2009, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery.
