Lisa Miller
Hansen
Oct 6, 1959 — Jul 7, 2026
Idaho Falls
Lisa Miller Hansen, 66 (almost 67) of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 7th, 2026.
Lisa was born on October 06, 1959, to Carol Ann Nelson and Earl T Miller in Idaho Falls. She was the oldest of six children. After graduating from Bonneville High School in 1977, she attended Ricks College, where she had never actually found where the library was. Because she “Ain’t no square.”
She later found her self-proclaimed “Wealthy farmer,” Carl David Hansen. Had she found the library, she probably could have researched his background better. Nonetheless, the story continues to their wedding on November 8, 1978, in the Idaho Falls temple. Together, they had six incredibly talented and witty children. By far the oldest, Carlie Nicole, next came Cory Michael. Still disappointed, they kept trying; next was April Sally, and Allicia Joan, who you probably haven’t heard of anyway- middle children, am I right?! Followed by Katlin Kim, who says she should have been the youngest, but next came Cheyenne McKay, who also became the spoiled “accident.”
Lisa was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many callings. She was an epic primary leader, a girls' camp prank artist, and tolerated her Relief Society callings because she belonged with the kids. She taught all her children to serve others and be kind, unless you’re playing games and you’re losing. She taught us all that we could do anything we put our minds to; sister-solidarity was the most important, and she coined our family motto “Do it, and you’re cool.”
Lisa found her true calling when her first grandchild was born, and many, many more followed. Grandma Hansen had 28 grandchildren and soon-to-be 1 great-grandchild. But was a grandma to every kid that she crossed paths with. She thrived when she was able to teach her favorite kids any of her many hobbies and talents. Sewing, quilting, cooking, baking, gardening, trash talking during games (shoutout to her daughter in Law, Tia), puzzles, adventuring, road tripping (especially with any of her grandbabies), camping, grandma was a professional grandkid sport enthusiast, the ultimate vacation buddy, experienced soda shop loyalist, and a master at carwashes with the windows down (its cheap entertainment). Every day was a yes day with Grandma, Zion says, “When Mom said no, Grandma would say, ' Go get two!” She always had a freezer full of popsicles and a fridge full of soda. Grandma threw epic pool parties and park days, but her claim to fame was having 28 kids who all KNEW THEY were her favorite. She hated only two things: Grandpa's dog, Dixie, and sunscreen.
Lisa is survived by her best friend, Carl David Hansen. Her children: Carlie (Justin) Martin, Cory (Tia) Hansen, April (Merrill) Judy, Alli (Brian) Johnson, Katlin (Nathan) Tew, and Cheyenne (Nate) Holloway; her 27 grandchildren: Emma, Bailey, Lizzie (Hunter), Macy, Noah, Mason, Delila, Natalie, Kolton, Molly, Liam, Carter, Emily, Lucas, Hallie, Benson, Cyliss, Kyden, Maxwell, Jenna, Ava, Kasen, Sara, Zion, Oliver, Livvy, and Izzy.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She will be continuing her grandma duties in heaven, with baby Owen Carl and all her cherished angel grandbabies whom she couldn’t wait to meet!
Her passing was unexpected, and her last words were, “You know I love you, right?”
All her children surprisingly wrote this together, fueled by her favorite Diet Coke and Hi-Chews… with NO alcohol and NO fighting.
Our dad says we have to be at the viewing on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the North Stake Center, 955 Memorial Drive, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m, both at the church. We will be celebrating her amazing legacy on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the North Stake Center, 955 Memorial Drive.
Despite our mom's love of botanicals (Kate knew where the library was), her children would gladly accept soda shop gift cards in lieu of flowers.
And as Lisa would say, “Come or don’t.”
Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
