Obituary
Lloyd H Ferguson, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 9, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Lloyd was born on July 22, 1931, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Harold and Sophia Evelyn Ferguson. He grew up in the Pocatello area and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1948. He attended Idaho State University.
He joined the United States Navy in 1949.
On May 29, 1965, he married his sweetheart, Gayle Armstrong, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they raised four children. They lived in many places including: Pocatello, Boise, Miles City, Montana, Utah, and Idaho Falls.
Lloyd worked as District Manager for the Bureau of Land Management.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in multiple bishoprics and as High councilman.
Lloyd enjoyed being outdoors. He was a huge sports fan and enjoyed BYU football and Utah Jazz basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle Ferguson, of Idaho Falls, ID; his sons: Russell (Kerrie) Ferguson, of Syracuse, UT, and Shawn (Sharon) Ferguson, of Idaho Falls, ID; his daughters: Melanie (Tim) James, of Brigham City, UT and Angi (Danny) Norris, of Green River, WY; his sisters: Helen Kemp, of Pocatello, ID, and Joann (Nolan) Olsen, of Idaho Falls, ID, and 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Harold and Evelyn Ferguson.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 15, 2016, at the Coltman LDS 3rd Ward, 6925 N. 15 E., with Bishop Kim Schuldt officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. and one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Grant Cemetery.
